Patricia was born in Connecticut and is of Ukrainian descent. In addition to attending public schools, she also attended Ukrainian school, where she studied grammar, history, geography, and religion as well as participating in afterschool activities, such as Ukrainian folk dancing. Patricia used this knowledge when she visited the Ukraine in 1980 and met her family.

Patricia completed her Bachelor's degree at Central Connecticut State University then moved to Florida in 2012. Her professional career includes working for large and well-known companies such as Travelers, United Health Care, Depository Trust Company, and now Family Network on Disabilities.

Patricia keeps practicing the Ukrainian language by reading newspapers and volunteering at church that collects financial donations, clothing, and other items for orphanages for children with various types of disabilities in the Ukraine.
